Swim Across America
Good Afternoon RMSL!
I hope your seasons are going well! I was asked to share this information about Swim Across America from Eric V. He spoke to the league at a meeting last fall. He dreams of all RMSL teams creating a team and then drive some healthy competition between each team! This year, the program looks different and is focused on participants getting exercise in whatever way they can.
As a positive reinforcement of encouraging exercise and supporting kids with pediatric cancer, it would be a great effort to support as a league.
If we have teams interested in organizing this with your community, would anyone like to volunteer to captain the league? I'd love a point person to coordinate and encourage us along. What teams are interested?
Thanks so much!
Happy 4th of July!
Kelli

Below is an example of what we are doing this year for Swim Across America-Denver now that we have had to cancel our annual open water event in August, and also can’t conduct pool swims w/ teams like the Hawks. I know it has been a huge disappointment for you, your kids, the team and other RMSL teams to also have to cancel your season. Attached are additional pieces of information, including our new flyer we hope could be posted at each RMSL pool asap.
However, I feel this is a great way to have teams still interact and do something positive for individuals, family members, teams and RMSL as a whole, as part of Colorado’s swimming community. No fundraising is required – we just want people to do positive things through their normal activities, while helping support pediatric cancer research in Colorado.
