Rocky Mountain Swim League 2026 Kickoff Reminders

Parents,

We are excited to kickoff the 52nd Rocky Mountain Swim League Swim Season! Over the long history of the league, it has developed not only multiple Olympic swimming gold medalists but also has instilled sportsmanship, work ethic, water safety and dedication in all of the swimmers that have participated. We look forward to continuing this tradition for future generations.

As a non-profit we fully rely on the parent volunteers to operate the league. A special thank you to all the parent reps who go above and beyond, make sure that you go out of your way to thank them for all that they do. Moreover, thank all the parent volunteers for doing your part.

As we approach the first meet we wanted to remind participants of the RMSL event expectations

  1. These are KIDS
  2. This is a RECREATIONAL LEAGUE
  3. Officials are parent VOLUNTEERS
  4. Meets are run by parent VOLUNTEERS
  5. This is NOT the OLYMPICS
  6. You are expected to treat EVERYONE with RESPECT and common courtesy
  7. Make CORE MEMORIES
  8. Have FUN and be SAFE

LET THE SWIMMERS SWIM

Every Saturday, the deck is filled with parents and spectators eager to see their team/swimmer succeed. While we encourage coaches, parents and teams to show encouragement through cheering, clapping and chanting, we want to ensure that we are respectful to our competitors, coaches and volunteers. We need to guarantee eagerness does not become counterproductive behavior, such as shouting or arguing. If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say it at all. We want to allow the swimmers to flourish in a fun supportive environment.

ENCOURAGE POSITIVITY & SPORTSMANSHIP

As parents and mentors, we set an example for our swimmers. We must be aware that the choices we make throughout the day greatly affect the experience of swimmers and teams. At practice and meets encourage and support all swimmers, find and focus on the things that went well. Encourage sportsmanship by competitors staying in the water until everyone finishes and make sure to shake all competitors hands.

REVIEW MEET/PRACTICE BEHAVIOR RULES & DISCIPLINE ACTIONS

At Rocky Mountain Swim League, all parents, coaches and swimmers will adhere to their respective code of conducts. When parents and spectators cross the line, events can quickly get out of control. Rocky Mountain Swim League has a zero tolerance for any violation of the parent, coaches and swimmer code of conducts. Should a violation occur the parent reps are required by RMSL to have the involved parties removed from the event immediately. If the involved parties do not leave it is required that the police are called. The involved parties are not allowed to return to any team function, practice or meet until the RMSL grievance committee has decided the appropriate disciplinary actions. Please note that violations will have ramifications for individuals and teams.

Should you have any questions please refer to the Parent/Coaches Code of Conduct that all parents signed during registration on the RMSL website https://rmsl.swimtopia.com/parent-code-of-conduct

We look forward to a SAFE, FAST and FUN 52nd year!

Best,

RMSL Board of Directors
